The 4th grade has been studying the phases of the moon.  Students are keeping a journal at home to record the phases of the moon over the next few weeks.  Cloudy and rainy weather made it hard to view the moon last week.  Sunny skies returned on Friday, January 18 and we could finally see the moon.  I saw it walking in my neighborhood in the afternoon on Friday.  I took this photo on board the USS New Jersey on Friday evening.   This is clearly a 1st Quarter Moon!

What moon phase should we expect this weekend?

keep following the moon in your journal, 4th graders!
