School Garden in Early April

on April 4, 2013

My students returned from spring break to find lots of new flowers blooming in our gardens in front of the lower school.   We went outside to sketch some of the flowers and see if we could indentify the different plants observing the colors, sizes, and shapes of the leaves and flowers.

some of our early april blooms included:

crocuses

glory-in-the-snow

blue squill

some plants have emerged from the soil, but have not bloomed:

red emperor tulip

daffodils

grape hyacynth

allium

here are some pictures of my students in the garden.
