Spring has Sprung at Shipley

Shipley school students are back outdoors again studying the local flora and fauna of the local region.  Students helped me take some great photos of the spring flowers around the lower school campus.   Flowers are blooming all over the campus.   5th grade students have been making sketches of the 7 blooming perrenial flowers in our gardens: snowdrops, crocuses, blue squill, glory-in-the-snow, daffodils, red emperor tulips, and grape hyacinth.

We graphed the growth of all the different gardens on campus and found the 3 beds built in front of the 1st grade classrooms grew best.  They had excellent sunlight, rich soil, good water drainage, and protection from walking traffic.
