Take the Marble Challenge

on April 12, 2013

2nd grade students were divided into two groups to solve two marble maze problems.  I actually seperated the boys and girls into seperate groups to take the challenge.  The girls were great at finding a way to move the marble around from one side of the box to another.  The had to find ways to design a way for the marble to curve around the box.  The boys made a large marble chute and tried to keep the marble moving for the longest time without stopping.  They used the forces of friction and gravity to make the best design.

It is fascinating to watch how you used problem solving skills to work on the marble mazes.
