Time to Plant the Bulbs

on November 4, 2013

After a few frosty mornings in early November, the students decided it was time to finally plant the bulbs around the campus.  Most the bulbs are being planted in the fourth grade garden behind the cafeteria and the fifth grade raised beds in front of the Lower School.  We are doing some different locations across the campus and comparing their springtime growth.  Some students wondered if the bulbs would still grow if we took off the tunic (papery covering) or cut the bulb in half.  We planted some of these altered bulbs in the fourth grade garden and will find our answer in the spring.  There is still more planting this week in the campus gardens.  Fall is a great time to be outdoors!
