Classifying Shark Teeth

on March 7, 2014

3rd Graders are getting ready for their trip to the Camden Adventure Aquarium.   Today we classified different shark tooth fossils into groups of rippers, grinders, and pokers.   We were able to calculate the size of the actual shark by multiplying the size of the shark tooth by ten.  We found teeth from the mako shark, sand shark, tiger shark, dusky shark, and great white shark.

you can find this great lab from NSTA at http://learningcenter.nsta.org/files/sc0903_20.pdf
