Butterflies arrive from Mexico

Second grade science students sent 3 class butterflies to different classrooms in the mountains of Mexico where the monarch butterflies spend the winter.  As the real butterflies make their annual migration to North America this spring, the Mexican students participating in the project sent all the symbolic butterflies back to students in the United States and Mexico.   One of our class butterflies made it back to a classroom in Colorado.   This past week we received three different butterflies from schools in Maine, Connecticut, and Washington state.  All these butterflies spent the winter in Mexico and now have returned home for the spring migration.  Our students were very excited to find all these butterflies in the mail and look forward to finding out where our butterflies ended up.
