Our First Stream Study

on September 29, 2014

5th graders will be taking a stream study 3 times in the fall and then 2 times in the spring.  We are looking at the health of the stream in Ashbridge Park near school.  We will be doing a qualitative assessment monitoring the different macroinveratebrates in the stream.   We are also taking chemical tests to see the levels of oxygen, chloride, nitrogen, and pH in the stream.  We are studying the Mill Creek watershed that is connected to the larger Schuylkill River watershed and the Delaware River Watershed.  The pictures below show our stream study trip to Mill Creek on Friday, September 12.
