Water Drop Olympics !

on November 11, 2014

Second Graders have been learning about the chemistry of water in science class.  We tried the amazing water race to see if we could move the water on wax paper through the maze.  We also found out how much we could stretch the water droplet on a sheet of wax paper.  Students explored on their own making their own mazes and coming up with their own experiments.  It’s great to see second graders making good observations that help to explain chemical concepts like the polarity of water, cohesion, and chemical bonds. Second Graders love how the model of a water molecule looks just like Mickey Mouse.
